In the first (deleted) game, it's Will and Davy Jones playing one on one with Will playing for the freedom of his father. In a deleted scene, it turns out there are TWO games of liars dice played.Jones, who had already dismissed Bootstrap as a threat at this point and was focused entirely on Will (who, as noted below, had managed to beat him once already in a deleted scene), didn't notice that Bootstrap was reversing the usual turn order, making play proceed anticlockwise so that his turn would come after Will, making it impossible for Jones to call Will a liar and rigging the whole game so that his son couldn't possibly lose. It's also noted in a comment on that video that the Bootstrap's true bluff, the greatest in the game that went unnoticed by either of the other players and uncommented on by the film, was when he said "it's your bid, captain". Davy Jones: And be called a liar myself for the trouble? (checks dice) Bootstrap Bill, you're a liar and you will spend an eternity on this ship! (to Will) Master Turner, feel free to go ashore.
